My “Feature Artist” Collin McLoughlin will certainly be spoiling his fans throughout the following 2-3 months, releasing a new track each week! To kick things off, Collin boasts his musical creativity with personal renditions of Chris Brown’s “Deuces” and Timbaland’s “Morning After Dark”! In Collin’s “Deuces” remix, he incorporates a combination of lyrics from Jason Derulo’s “Whatcha Say”; Ciara’s “Ride”; his personal favorite, Usher’s “Confessions”; and sings Tyga’s rap verse found in the original version. For his “Morning After Dark” remix, Collin re-wrote the verses and sang the hook in a completely different tonality than Timbaland. McLoughlin also plans to release some original upbeat, Electro-Pop material in the near future!

Support Collin and purchase “Monster” on iTunes! Here’s a message from the man, himself:
“I am hoping that people who support what I do and have downloaded my previous songs for free and will be downloading my album Ambiguity for free when it is released on January 26, 2011, will be willing to spend one dollar of their money to purchase one song to support me in this small way.“

Here’s an appetizer from Collin McLoughlin as we await his upcoming debut EP! Collin covers Mike Posner’s Top 10 hit “Cooler Than Me”, adding a twist of his own! This was recorded in his closet with his laptop, so needless to say it’s not even mastered, which only speaks to his captivating vocal abilities. Pretty cool! Props to FNT for sending this over!

PRESS BIO: Collin McLoughlin is a twenty-two year-old singer/songwriter from New York. He began his career as a solo acoustic artist, writing and recording original material in early high school. Following a successful run as a touring acoustic artist Collin was recruited by three fellow students at Colgate University to join a hip-hop/R&B group named Nautical Young. He began to write hooks, co-produce and eventually manage the group which culminated in the release of the band’s debut album , titled Just in Time, in April 2010. Sponsored by DJ Benzi the mixtape was met with rave reviews from fans and in print, leading to a small college tour across the country.
With the group heading in opposite geographic directions upon graduation later that spring Collin focused his efforts towards his solo career, and began recording a debut solo project this past May. Drawing from his acoustic roots and more recent involvement in urban and R&B music McLoughlin’s solo project serves as a refreshing blend of electronic, soul and pop rhythms. Collin has performed with Wale, Fabolous, K’naan, Sam Adams, and Lupe Fiasco. McLoughlin plans to release his solo demo in the electro / soul genres in the coming weeks, followed by a solo tour to promote the project all while juggling his role as a graduate student at NYU’s Music Business Program.
