Wiz Khalifa Talks Signing Juicy J To Taylor Gang

Wiz Khalifa is building an empire. During an interview with MTV, the Pittsburgh rapper explained his decision to sign Three 6 Mafia’s Juicy J to his Taylor Gang imprint.

“Well, I’ve always been a huge fan of Juicy J and Three 6 Mafia and just what they brought to the game as far as their music, as far as their consistency, as far as just if you’re in that mood and you know what you wanna hear, they brought it and I respected that. And they brought it for years, since I was young. I remember when ‘Tear da Club Up’ first came out and I remember when ‘Stay Fly’ came out, and those are two huge songs from the same group of people who never fell off or lost it at all. And I really look up to that and respect that. And when I reached out to him and he ended up being a fan of mine, and we linked, and we were cool, and we chilled, and we got trippy together, it was like, ‘Man, we might as well bridge the gap and takeover,’ ’cause he’s gonna be here forever and I’m gonna be here forever.”

Kanye West Honors Mother, Thanks Jay-Z And Beyonce At Hometown Show

Kanye West paid homage during his second consecutive Watch The Throne concert at Chicago’s United Center on Thursday. The hometown hero dedicated the show to his late mother, also thanking Beyoncé and his tourmate Jay-Z for sticking with him in his “darkest hours.”

“It’s a glorious occasion, but right now I want y’all to put two fingers in the air right now. I wanna dedicate this show to the lady that brought me to Chicago at age three, the first black female chair of the English department at Chicago State University, Dr. Donda Claire Ann West. I know she up there looking down right now, and she helped me get through these past four years, when America turned they back on me, when the world turned they back on me for tellin’ y’all the motherfuckin’ truth. And now I’m leading the Grammy nominations. And I just wanna thank Beyoncé and Jay-Z for standing by me in my darkest hours and you, Chicago, for standing by me in my darkest hour and giving me reason to feel like I should stay alive when the world thought I should die and staying by my side.”
