J. Cole has remained patient with his releases, withholding new music for the past several months. But on Wednesday night, the Roc Nation MC debuted an acapella version of a new song tentatively titled “Chaining Day.”
“I ain’t dropped nothing in a while ’cause I feel like, man, we in this digital age where shit moves so fast,” said Cole. “Ni**as got songs every week, you can’t even keep up with this shit.” But, he admits, “I be getting a itch.”
He continued, “Pardon me if I f*ck up, this is my first time ever doing this sh*t. This is about where I’m at now, and being a smart young man who’s supposed to know better. And I told myself I would never become that guy—you know what I’m saying? I’ma be a rapper, but I ain’t wanna ever be that ni**a. That’s what I would say, and then this happened,” said Cole as he lifted his Jesus piece.
It’s time for a quick game of 21 as the opening acts for Drake’s “Club Paradise” tour compete in a pick-up basketball game. Waka Flocka, 2 Chainz, and French Montana try to keep up with J. Cole, as the Roc Nation hoopster shows off his athleticism and perfect jump shot.
